You Can Vote However You Like

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

(McCain supporters)
McCain's the best candidate
With Palin as his running mate
They'll fight for gun rights, pro life,
The conservative right
Our future is bright
Better economy in site
And all the world will feel our military might

(Obama supporters)
But McCain and Bush are real close right
They vote alike and keep it tight
Obama's new, he's younger too
The Middle Class he will help you
He'll bring a change, he's got the brains
McCain and Bush are just the same
You are to blame, Iraq's a shame
Four more years would be insane

Lower your Taxes - you know Obama Won't
PROTECT THE LOWER CLASS - You know McCain won't!
Have enough experience - you know that they don't
STOP GLOBAL WARMING - you know that you won't

I want Obama
FORGET OBAMA
Stick with McCain and you're going to have some drama
We need it
HE'LL BRING IT
He'll be it
YOU'LL SEE IT
We'll do it
GET TO IT
Let's move it
DO IT!

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

I'm talking big pipe lines, and low gas prices
Below $2.00 that would be nice

But to do it right we gotta start today
Finding renewable ways that are here to stay

I want Obama
FORGET OBAMA,
Stick wit McCain you gone have some drama
MORE WAR IN IRAQ
Iran he will attack
CAN'T BRING OUR TROOPS BACK
We gotta vote Barack!

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

Why this Matters? -Family Values

Why this Matter? A question I am trying to answer. I think maybe one long windy response to that question is not appropriate. I am going to attempt to break it down into smaller sections. Here goes the first one.

Family Values

I would preface this by saying, "In my opinion", but this is my site, so of course it is my opinion. The title is "Terry-Gilmores-Head".

For too long, far, far too long the right wing of American politics has had a monopoly on the concept of "Family" and "Values". I believe that those days are numbered. The portrait of the American Family is no longer a beautifully colorless canvass painted by Norman Rockwell.

No longer is the "Greatest Generation" one that is suck in a mindset that was developed during some of the darkest times in America's history.

It is my contention that the Greatest Generation is one in which Color, or Faith, or whatever has in the past been used to divide us, no longer holds sway.

The New Greatest Generation is one that in a time of need, turns to perhaps its most capable leader. Regardless of his name, or where his father was born.

There is a theory that from Crisis comes our greatest Opportunity. An Oppertunity for Change. Real, meaningful Change.

It was during a time of Crisis, an unsettled period of American History that Barack Obama shaped his world-view.

It is during a similar time of Crisis that we need that world view more than ever.

The Fatherless has become the Father. Barack Obama has been recently accused of being too eloquent. That he is too good with words.

What Barack Obama has said to me, without speaking a word, is that all Families have Value.

We may not fit easily into a Norman Rockwell painting. We paint our picture with our own brush. And our Palette contains many more colors.

What Barack Obama says without speaking that that the child of a single parent is in no way limited in what he or she can accomplish. That the daughter of a single father and a single mother is capable of being what ever she wants to be.

What Barack Obama says to me, his lips never moving, is that a ceremony on a beach means just as much, if not more than one held in a church, or a back yard.

The Obama's are the new portrait of an American Family, and that is why this matters.

Why? Georgia?

Pollser.com moved the State of Georgia in the "Undecided" category.

Georgia?

And by the way, McCain is down to a 4 point lead in his own state.

Sarah Palin is Awesome

This is a joke. These guys are not serious. But They are Awesome

True

True

Obama-Penn State

We are witnessing a convergence of my two favorite things. Penn State, and Obama.

I love winning. I really do. I am the guy who would play an entire season on Madden on the Rookie Level just so I could score 100 points a game. I love winning that much that it wouldn't get boring to me. I realize how bad that sounds and I am totally OK with it. I hate losing. I love winning.

And that is exactly was Obama and Penn State are doing. The best part is, they are both doing it in the same part of the country. The Big 10.

Penn State crushed Michigan in what looked like it would be a close game.

Obama is beating McCain so badly in Michigan, which was thought to be a battle ground state, that the McCain Campaign pulled all of the resources out of the state and left it for dead.

Penn State beat Temple University like they stole something.

Obama is up by double digits in the Keystone State.

This week, my Lions travel to Columbus to take on my second least favorite college football team, Ohio State.

My Lions are favored by 3, Obama, by 12.

Illinois, a lock for Obama, his home state. A lock for Penn State, they squeezed Juice Williams and the rest of the Fighting Illini.

Wisconsin, thought to be a tough game for Penn State... NOT

Thought to be a tough state for O, THAT ONE! is up by 13.

Still on the schedule for the Lions, Indiana (Obama up 10), Iowa (Obama up 13), and Michigan State (we already talked about that one).

The point is, A. I like winning, and B. My "teams" are winning, and I love it.

The narrative in the media is going to be that Obama is too sure of himself, and that they are calling it too soon.

The FACTS ARE, that if things stay as they are, Obama is going to win in an absolute landslide.

Early voting has begun in most states. 750,000 people have voted already in North Carolina, and an estimated 56% of those voted for Obama, this is North Carolina we are talking about.

and the Results from the Big Ten poll I referenced:

Head-to-head results for individual states

Illinois Obama 61% McCain 32%

Indiana Obama 51% McCain 41%

Iowa Obama 52% McCain 39%

Michigan Obama 58% McCain 36%

Minnesota Obama 57% McCain 38%

Ohio Obama 53% McCain 41%

Pennsylvania Obama 52% McCain 41%

Wisconsin Obama 53% McCain 40%

Both Obama and Penn State have done very well outside of the the Big Ten as well.

Oregon, Obama by 13, Penn State over Oregon State by 31.

North Carolina, Obama by 9, Penn State over the Chanticleers (Ya Gotta Crow, and Ya Gotta Crow NOW!) of Coastal Carolina by by 46.

I am loving this.

And the Electoral Map from yesterday, looking very Blue:

Um, Governor Palin, I thought you said Real American's, middle American's, small town Americans were all for McCain. 'Cause it sort of looks to me like Obama Nation is creeping west from New York and Pennslyvania, North from Florida, South From Virginia, and West from Oregon and California.

I smell a Mandate.

FIRED UP! READY TO GO!

Mike Alstott

His Number was retired in Tampa Sunday night.

I know this may seem like a silly thing, but I did not care about NFL football until I was in 9th grade. I was playing Freshman Football, I was the tailback. I ran over a teammate on the goal line in practice one day, and he compared me to Alstott. I had no idea what he was talking about.

I did some research, and in 1998 I became a Bucs fan. Actually I became an Alstott fan, who liked the Bucs. From 98-02 the Bucs represented all that I love about football. Good D, great running game, smart coach, and Alstott.

I Hate Jon Gruden, but I cannot stop watching the Bucs.

Vice President

Sarah Palin is the main reason behind John McCain's crumbling campaign.

The Hockey Mom dropped $170,000 on clothes in Minnesota, the bill was covered by the RNC. $170,000.

Today's Live Music

There could be a genre of music called "anti-George Bush", Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, System of a Down have all made some of their best music in response the failed policies of this administration.

I started crying today thinking about taking Avi into the booth with me on the 4th. Actually holding her when I pull the lever, taking a picture with my phone, and being able to tell her that she was there the day I voted for a black man for president.
