I relate life in the military to life in a college football locker room/training camp dorm.

I think that there are a lot of similarities. Lots of guys, close proximity, limited privacy, we depend on each other for our collective success etc.

And I think, how would that locker room, over 100 guys changing, showering, dressing, be affected by one or more of those guys making it public that they were gay. In my 10 years of playing football, I am absolutely certain I played with at least a few gay men.

Honestly I don't know how the dynamics of that room would change, but I have to believe that if a player were dismissed from the team for being openly gay, I would be the next person to walk out the door. But of course I am a raging liberal, not true for most of the guys I played with.
