Will I ever doubt Pixar.
I thought when I saw the trailers for Up I thought it looked kind of stupid. I don't really like old people, or fat little kids. So seeing a film that focused on an old guy, and a fat little kid was not something I was terribly keen to do.
Then people started seeing it, and loving it, and I said, I get to it when I get to it.
Well, Christmas night, The Girl and I decided to watch it after opening our (awesome) gifts to each other.
And this is me saying, I will never again doubt the awesome power of Pixar when it comes to telling a story.
They knocked it out of the park again. Up is awesome.

As I sat at watched Up in the theater, I realized about twenty minutes from the end...
"This is quite possibly the most bizarre plot I've ever watched."
But it was good. I liked Wall-E better (more intertextuality), but Up was a *very* original and well-told story
I also liked Wall-E better. Like UP, I totally underestimated it going in.
The thing about up that struck me so profoundly was the montage at the beginning. I have heard it described in recent weeks as the best montage in film history.
I knew how it was going to end, and knowing my parents have led a similar life, I watched it heart-broken.
